Augusta Highway, Redhill

ISSUED FOR REDHILL

CFS crews are currently responding to a grass fire in Redhill that ignited at approximately 9.25am this morning.

The fire is in the vicinity of the Augusta Highway with six aircraft and eight trucks currently responding to the incident.

The fire has jumped the Highway and approached the railway line resulting in the road being blocked for local traffic.

The Augusta Highway is currently closed between Redhill and Snowtown.

CFS crews remain on scene.

Smoke will be visible in the Augusta Highway area. The community is advised to close all doors and windows and stay indoors if the smoke is causing you concern. Be careful when driving as smoke may reduce visibility.
