SECOND VALLEY GRASS FIRE

CFS crews are currently responding to a grass fire at Second Valley, approximately 8km east of Rapid Bay in the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula.

Approximately 30 CFS and Forestry SA firefighters on 8 trucks, supported by one waterbombing aircraft, are working to contain the fire.

The fire is currently burning in pine slash and grass. Thanks to the efforts of ground and air crews, the fire has been prevented from spreading into a nearby pine plantation.

Roads in the area remain open at this time, however conditions may change at short notice. For information on road closures, visit traffic.sa.gov.au.
