Solomon Grass Fire

The CFS is responding to a grass fire in the Caralue Bluff Conservation Park near Darke Peak in the Eastern Eyre Peninsula of South Australia.
Approximately 5 CFS trucks are currently on the fireground alongside Department for Environment and Water firefighters, supported by 7 aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft.
Firefighters are also being supported by SA Police.

Crews are currently working to contain this fire which is burning in scurb and native vegetation.

The Balumbah-Kinnard Road at Waddikee is currently closed and smoke may be impacting other roads in the area, and visibility may be reduced.
To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.

This fire is believed to be caused by the lightning event which has caused a number of fires across the district. If you spot an unattended fire please report it to 000.
