Structure Fire in Sunlands near Waikerie in the Riverland
ISSUED FOR SUNLANDS
SA CFS advises that this structure fire is now contained however is still producing small amounts of smoke across the local area.
Multiple crews attended the fire yesterday during the extreme heat and utilised thermal imaging cameras to identify hot spots. Crews also had to manage the impact of the fire on a store of farming chemicals within the shed. This work is continuing today in consultation with the EPA and landholder.
Atmospheric monitoring is continuing today, to ensure community safety.
CFS and the EPA are working with the landholder to normalise the site as quickly as possible.
