Grass and Scrub Fire at Tilley Swamp on the Princes Hwy in the Lower South East of South Australia
ISSUED FOR TILLEY SWAMP, Petherick Road and Princes Hwy
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is currently attending a fire which has impacted parts of the Coorong and Tilley Swamp Conservation Parks. The fire has burnt around 400 hectares of grazing land and 250 hectares in the conservation parks. The fire cause has been determined as accidental.
CFS, National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) supported by farm fire units and heavy machinery have managed to control the fire and it is no longer a threat to the public.
Smoke may be seen in the area for the next 48 hours.
All roads in the area are now open, however CFS, NPWS and farm fire units may still be working near the roads.
