Tumby Bay structure fire
Issued for TUMBY BAY in the Lower Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.
The CFS is responding to a structure fire in Tumby Bay on the Lower Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.
Approximately 55 CFS firefighters on 9 trucks, supported by the Metropolitan Fire Service, SA Police, SA Ambulance Service, and SA Power Networks, are on scene working to extinguish the fire.
The fire is currently burning in a commercial property on Spencer Street.
CFS firefighters have prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent properties.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and Fire Investigators will attend the scene Sunday morning.
A tiered road closure system has been implemented for community safety and access may not be possible to all areas until they are deemed safe. Follow the directions of emergency service personnel and signage.
Smoke is impacting roads in the area, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
