UPPER HERMITAGE

UPPER HERMITAGE FIRE

Issued for UPPER HERMITAGE in the Mount Lofty Ranges.

The Country Fire Service (CFS) was alerted to a fire in Upper Hermitage at approximately 3pm this afternoon.

CFS volunteers on 17 trucks, supported by fire bombing aircraft prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent properties. Crews will remain on scene throughout the night, extinguishing how spots and patrolling the fire.

This fire may be causing smoke in the area, and members of the community are urged to take care, particularly if driving through the area.

Roads have been closed due to this incident. A full list of current road closures is available at: traffic.sa.gov.au. It is unknown when roads will be reopened at this time.
