CFS advises that a fire is burning near Old Port Wakefield Road and Stanton Road, Virginia, approximately 2km North of the Virginia Township.
The fire is burning in grass amongst glass houses. Approximately 70 CFS firefighters, on 16 fire trucks are in attendance, with the support of aircraft and SA Police.
CFS crews will remain at the scene until the fire is fully extinguished.
Smoke is impacting roads in the area, including Old Port Wakefield Road, Stanton Road, and Robinson Road. Visibility may be reduced in these areas.
To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
The community are advised to close all windows and doors and stay inside, especially those with respiratory conditions.
