SACFS advises that a stubble and scrub fire is burning near Apoing Road and Tothill Belt Road, approximately 4km North East of the Waterloo Township.
23 SACFS crews are responding with the support of 7 aircraft, including a Blackhawk helicopter, and local farm firefighting units. They will remain at the scene until the fire is fully extinguished and will continue mop up efforts over the coming hours.
The fire has currently burnt approximately 40 hectares. Approximately 150 round hay bales are burning within the fire perimeter, and these will continue to burn until early evening.
Smoke is impacting roads in the area, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
