Williamstown Fire
Issued for Williamstown, in the South Para Reservoir approximately 2km south of Williamstown township in the Mount Lofty Ranges.
CFS advises that a fire is burning in pine slash at the South Para Reservoir near South Para Road, approximately 2km south of the Williamstown township.

CFS crews on 35 trucks are in attendance with the support of Forestry SA and Department for Environment and Water crews, and SAPOL. Farm Fire Units are also on the scene assisting the firefighting efforts. All aircraft have now been released, with a total of 122 drops.
Crews are currently mopping up in areas of heavy timber and pine slash, and they will remain at the scene until the fire is fully extinguished. Firefighting activities are expected to continue during the night.
The current size of the burnt area is approximately 10 hectares and it is not expected to increase at this stage. Smoke from heavy timber on the fireground is visible in the area.
The cause of this fire is currently being investigated, but it is not believed to be deliberate.
Due to hot working conditions in rugged terrain, St John volunteers will attend the fireground for firefighter welfare.
South Para Road remains closed for the safety of community and emergency service crews. Other road closures may be in place in and around the fireground. A full list of current road closures is available at: https://traffic.sa.gov.au/
