Wilmington Scrub Fire
Issued for WILMINGTON in Mount Remarkable National Park in the Flinders Ranges.
The CFS have been responding to a scrub fire near Alligator Gorge, located near Wilmington in Mount Remarkable National Park in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia.
This fire has currently burnt approximately 125 HA of hard to access terrain and is continuing to burn towards Stony Creek Track. CFS firefighters supported by Department of Environment and Water crews, will be monitoring the fire overnight before extra resources arrive in the morning to help with ongoing firefighting efforts.
All visitors have now exited the park and Mount Remarkable National Park will be closed until further notice.
Smoke is impacting roads in the area, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
