BUSHFIRE WATCH AND ACT MESSAGE

Message ID: 0001752
Time Message Issued: 23:31
Date Message Issued: 02/02/2018

Fire Origin / Fire Name: EMU FLAT

Issued for Emu Flat, Clare and Armagh

CFS advises that a bushfire at Clare in the Clare Valley has eased but is expected to continue to burn during the night and may threaten your safety. The fire is still moving in a northerly direction towards Blyth Road. The fire spread has been halted on the western, southern and eastern boundaries of the fire. The Fire behaviour is constantly changing due to the scrub and hilly terrain it is burning in. Fire activity or intensity may increase in scrub lands and when burning uphill. CFS advises that even though fire activity may decrease over night the fire may become active again in the morning. CFS Crews will remain at the fire overnight attending to any active fire and patrolling the area. Residents in the area are advised to remain vigilant during the night and continue to check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan as conditions may change. To ensure your safety and that of Firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary. Visibility may be reduced; the roads may not be safe and there are emergency vehicles working in the area. If you are not prepared, leave now. Only leave if the path is clear to a safer place.
