Issued for Karte in the Mallee

CFS advises that a bushfire at Karte in the Mallee, near the Karte Conservation Park and within the Peebinga Conservation Park continues to burn. Crews have completed the back burns to the North Eastern boundary and to the Southern boundary establishing control lines. Crews will be working on this bushfire throughout the night. Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan. If you are not prepared, leave now. Only leave if the path is clear to a safer place. The Karte fire remains within the scrub and crews are working to prevent the fire moving towards the locality of Mootatunga in the Mallee. The Fire is uncontrolled and burning in scrub, conditions are continually changing. You should not enter this area as the roads may not be safe.
