House Destroyed in Andamooka Blaze

SA Country Fire Service firefighters were responded to reports of a structure fire at Andamooka near Roxby Downs in the states Far North just before 0430am this morning.

On arrival to the Opal Creek Boulevard home crews found the house fully ablaze.

Firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, worked hard to contain the fire, however the home has been fully destroyed.

No one was home at the time the fire started, Fire Cause Investigators from SA Police and SA Metropolitan Fire Service have been requested to investigate and will arrive on scene today, however the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

The current approximate dollar damage estimate has been set at $300 000.

Crews will remain on scene for some time to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
