$100,000 Tractor and Spray Rig Fire - Barmera - 29 September 2023

At approximately 3.00pm this afternoon CFS responded to a fire on a property at Barmera, in the State’s Riverland.

24 CFS crew on 6 fire trucks and 2 support vehicles responded to the grass fire which was ignited by a rubbish burn off on a property.

Through the great efforts of CFS firefighters, the fire was able to be controlled within 2 hours, saving several houses in the vicinity from being impacted.

Unfortunately a tractor and spray rig were destroyed, resulting in a $100,000 loss. 

SA Police were in attendance to assist with local traffic and bystander safety.
