$200,000 house fire in Ungarra

At around 2.20pm on Friday 12 November, the CFS received multiple Triple Zero calls regarding a house fire on Schramm Street, Ungarra, north of Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula.

Three CFS trucks, a bulk water carrier and 15 volunteer firefighters responded to the call where they found the single story home completely engulfed in flames. Unfortunately due to the size of the fire the home could not be saved, but crews remain on the scene to ensure the area is safe.

Nearby power lines are down and SA Power Networks are currently working to re-establish power in the area.

No one was present at the time.

The cause is yet to be established and a fire cause investigator has been requested to attend the scene.

Estimated damages are approximately $200,000.
