$60,000 kitchen fire at Coromandel Valley - 7 November 2021

At 5:42 this morning CFS crews were alerted to a house fire at Hillside Avenue, Coromandel Valley in the Mount Lofty Ranges by a 000 caller who reported seeing flames coming from the roof of a home.

Seven minutes later the first crew of CFS volunteers arrived to find a fire burning in the flue of a kitchen.

A total of six CFS fire trucks and one bulk water carrier arrived, and the 32 firefighters were able to stop the fire spreading through the house.

Damages have been estimated at $60,000, all residents were able to safely evacuate the building and no injuries were reported.
