Small crop fire at Dutton East - 4 December 2023
Just after 7:00 pm today, crews were called to a small crop fire on Koch Road, Dutton East.
CFS volunteer firefighters responded to the scene with 3 trucks and 1 bulk water carrier. SA Police also attended the scene. Upon arrival, crews were met by a number of farm firefighting units, who had successfully prevented the fire from spreading and were in the process of extinguishing the fire completely. The CFS wishes to acknowledge the quick efforts of the farm firefighting units involved in this incident.
The fire, caused by farm machinery, burned a small amount of crop and destroyed part of a header. Total losses are estimated at around $100,000.
