Statewide smoke advice message- 22 December

The SA Country Fire Service has received a number of reports of people experiencing a strong smell of smoke across South Australia.

Light winds overnight have caused the smoke from existing bushfires to spread to across the state, impacting on communities some distance from the firegrounds.

There is also an inversion layer that is keeping the smoke from the Cudlee Creek fire low and the light winds are blowing this further afield.

The CFS wishes to reassure the community that there has been no significant increase in fire behaviour, however, if you see unattended fire call 000 for assistance.

The CFS advises members of the public to close all doors and windows and stay indoors if the smoke is causing you concern. Be careful when driving as smoke may reduce visibility
