Structure Fire at Coober Pedy - 3 February 2024
CFS volunteers are responding to a fully involved structure fire at Elleway Drive in Coober Pedy. This fire is causing smoke overhead and the community is encouraged to stay away from this area. High fuel loads contained within the house are prolonging the blaze which is estimated to burn for the next few hours. Firefighters will remain on scene working to extinguish the fire. The estimated damage amount is $200,000. One firefighter has been treated by SA Ambulance due to the heat. CFS thanks our volunteers for continuing to serve their community through these hot condition. The cause is currently unknown and fire investigators have been requested.
