Structure fire at McCallum - 18 November 2024

Two trucks carrying 10 firefighters responded to a Triple 0 call to attend a structure fire on a farming property at 8:40am at McCallum, 20 kilometres north east of Keith in the state’s Upper South East.

Upon arrival CFS firefighters found a pump shed, containing approximately 4000 litres of diesel, on fire.

Volunteers used foam to contain the diesel fire, which was prevented from spreading into nearby crops.

Firefighters were on site for three hours managing the fire and its aftermath.

South Australia Police also attended the scene.

The shed and irrigation equipment within, valued at approximately $100,000, was destroyed.
