Structure fire at Onkaparinga Hills - 8 March 2024

At 3:30am, CFS and MFS crews on 8 trucks and 3 command cars responded to a house fire on Windrush Rise, Onkaparinga Hills.

It’s believed the fire first impacted the large shed at the back, before travelling along a pergola to the rear of the property.

Firefighters fought hard to contain the fire to the back two rooms and thereby saved the rest of the house from total destruction.

One firefighter was treated at the scene for heat stress but did not require hospitalisation.

The damage bill is expected to reach $300,000 and fire cause investigators will spend the morning sifting through evidence and trying to understand how this fire started.
