Structure fire at Waterloo Corner - 16 November 2024
Ten fire trucks carrying approximately 50 firefighters responded to a Triple O call at 12:40pm to attend a structure fire in a compost facility at McEvoy Road at Waterloo Corner in Adelaide’s north.
Upon arrival firefighters found that machinery and compost piles within the facility were on fire.
Crews are utilising breathing apparatus along with heavy machinery located on site to conduct offensive firefighting procedures.
The fire is contained, but it will take some time for the fire to be extinguished due to the nature of the compost piles.
Damage to the machinery is estimated at up to $3 million.
