Structure fire in Coober Pedy - 28 October 2024
Two units carrying six firefighters responded to a Triple O call at 9:40 pm to attend a single-storey structure fire at Hutchison Street, Coober Pedy in South Australia’s Far North.
Upon arrival volunteer firefighters found the abandoned building partially involved in fire and utilised breathing apparatus to conduct internal and external attacks on the blaze.
The quick action of volunteers saw the fire contained to two rooms of the building and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring properties.
Damage to the property is estimated at $75,000.
South Australia Police and SA Ambulance Service provided support, while Fire Cause investigators have been notified.
