Structure fire in Parilla - 9 August 2024
Fifteen CFS firefighters on 3 trucks and a bulk water carrier, supported by SA Police and SES, attended a commercial structure fire at a potato farm just after 8 am at Parilla in the state’s Mallee region.
Despite the efforts of farm workers to extinguish the blaze, a cool room, shed and generator were destroyed with damage estimated at $600,000.
Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus assisted the farm workers with removing potatoes from the cool room.
Fire investigators are attending the scene.
