Williamstown shed fire - 23 June 2024
At just after 6am CFS responded to triple-0 calls for a shed fire at a property on Millington Road at Williamstown in the Barossa Valley. Around 35 firefighters on 5 trucks and 2 bulk water carriers arrived to find a going fire in a 20m x 30m shed with a camp kitchen. Crews did well to prevent the fire from spreading to a number of large trees nearby, however the shed roof had collapsed and the structure couldn’t be saved. The damage bill is estimated at in excess of $100,000 and fire investigators will attend the scene to try and determine a cause of the fire.
