Burrungule farm machinery fire - 24 June 2024
At just before 3:30pm, CFS crews were alerted to a loader fire on a property on Cafpirco Road at Burrungule – 15 kilometres west of Mount Gambier. Compton CFS responded with five firefighters to find the farm machinery fully engulfed in flames. While they prevented the fire from spreading, the earth mover was completely destroyed and damages are estimated at $300,000. No one was injured and a cause is yet to be established.
