Shed fire at Kapunda - 8 October 2024
CFS crews were alerted to a fire in a shed at Kapunda, to the northwest of Adelaide near the Barossa Valley at approximately 8:45 this morning.
Approximately 10 CFS firefighters on 2 fire trucks, along with 2 command cars arrived at a fire inside a large shed housing multiple golf buggies. Upon arrival, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) were required to make forcible entry to extinguish the fire likely initiated by an electrical fault.
Efficient work of firefighters extinguished the fire within 20 minutes and prevented any further spread of fire to adjacent buildings, however the heat damage sustained by the shed and its contents has caused damage of approximately $120,000.
SA Police supported CFS crews on scene and the property has now been handed back to the property owner.
