$40,000 structure fire at wirrulla - 7 February 2023
CFS crews are currently in attendance at a structure fire in shearers quarters just north of the Eyre Highway, on the outskirts of wirrulla on the Eyre Peninsula.
14 firefighters have been on scene since approximately 5.00 pm, extinguishing the blaze to ensure it doesn't spread to adjoining properties or impact on the nearby highway. Whilst the fire is now contained, the shearers quarters have been fully destroyed, causing damage estimated at above $40,000.
Firefighters remain on scene extinguishing hot spots. SA Police have been called to the scene to assist with determining the cause.
