$90,000 tractor fire at Bletchley - 2 June 2022

Just before midday today, CFS crews were alerted to a tractor fire on Bletchley Road, Bletchley, east of Strathalbyn.

16 CFS Firefighters from four trucks attended and, on arrival, found a tractor fully alight. Crews worked to extinguish the fire, and thankfully their quick work stopped the fire spreading to the adjoining paddock.

It is understood that the tractor was undertaking spraying operations at the time, and the cause of the fire is suspected to be a mechanical fault.

Damages are estimated at approximately $90,000, with the tractor fully destroyed and the attached spray unit sustaining minor damage.
