House fire at Oodnadatta - 30 May 2025

CFS firefighters responded to a house fire in Oodnadatta, located north of Coober Pedy in the state’s Far North region, around 9:30 am.

Approximately 4 CFS firefighters on one truck attended the house fire with support from SA Police.

Upon arrival, the rooms of the house were fully engulfed, prompting firefighters to use defensive tactics from outside to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties.

The estimated damage is $300,000 and the house has been destroyed. Fire Investigators are scheduled to arrive later this afternoon.
