House fire at Winkie in the Riverland

Today, Wednesday 14  November, just before 1am the CFS with the MFS responded to a house fire at Winkie which is 7 kilometres south west of Berri in the Riverland.

Crews arrived to find the house well ablaze and little could be done to save the property but they did manage to contain it to the structure.

No one was believed to be home at the time and the damage bill is estimated at $80,000.

About 30 firefighters attended the incident and the cause of the fire is undetermined with fire cause investigators attending later in the day.
