Truck fire in Miranda - 22 April 2025
CFS crews were called to a truck fire on the Augusta Highway at Miranda, approximately 40km south of Port Augusta, at about 7:20am this morning.
Eight firefighters on three trucks, including a bulk water carrier, responded to the highway to find the rear of the prime mover alight. The truck was not transporting any trailers.
CFS crews were supported by SA Police who closed the highway for a short period of time. The highway has now been reopened.
CFS firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, which was believed to have started by the truck’s brakes. The damage bill is estimated to be $150,000.
