Truck fire in Yamba - 26 March 2025
At around 6pm this evening, the CFS were alerted to a truck fire along the Sturt Highway near Yamba, in the eastern Riverland region of South Australia.
Approximately 30 firefighters formed a joint response from the CFS and MFS on seven trucks. Crews arrived at two trailers of a b-double truck carrying food products on fire, with the prime mover detached by the truck driver prior to arrival. Estimated damages to both the trailers and their contents is $400,000.
SA Police are supporting crews on scene, with the Sturt Highway currently closed in both directions until the road has been cleared of debris and safe to reopen.
No cause has been identified, and no injuries have been reported.
