Ceduna House Fire - 27 April 2024
At just after 9 o’clock this morning the CFS responded to emergency calls about a house fire at Ten Chain Road, Ceduna. Two trucks with approximately 10 firefighters managed to quickly contain the fire which destroyed the electricity meter box and had started to travel along the wiring into the roof space. The occupants including three children escaped unharmed. The damage bill is estimated at approximately $40,000 and investigators are yet to determine the cause of the fire. As we come into the cooler, winter months, the CFS would like to remind all residents of the risk to their properties posed by electrical faults and other causes such as a poorly maintained chimney, drying clothes in front of a heat source and or increased use of tumble driers. These may increase the risk of structural fires, and the public are asked to take steps to minimise these risks.
