Farm machinery fire - 12 January 2024
A farmer has safely exited his farm machinery after it caught alight while in use on a farm off Halbury School Road in Hoyleton.
The farmer joined by two CFS crews and a Farm Fire Unit contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the tractor and surrounding scrub. Firefighters will continue using preventative measures to ensure the hay doesn’t reignite for the next few hours.
The farm machinery has been completely destroyed equaling a total estimated damage cost of $400,000.
