Homestead structure fire - 12 January 2024
A homestead on Hodby Road in Yongala has caught alight causing an estimated $200,000 worth of damage.
5 CFS crews supported by Farm Fire Units have persevered through the hot afternoon conditions to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to surrounding property and structures including a shipping container contain ammunition. Firefighters will continue working to extinguish flames into this evening.
The property was unoccupied when the fire started. SA Police and SA Ambulance are also on scene supporting and Fire Cause have been notified.
