McLaren Flat shed fire - 6 July 2024

Just after midnight, CFS crews responded to a large industrial shed fully involved in fire in McLaren Flat, 45km to the south of Adelaide. Approximately fourty firefighters on six trucks, two bulk water carriers and a command car have been assisted by crews from the MFS, SA Ambulance and SA Police.

Control of the fire was effectively gained in approximately one hour, with firefighters working defensively from the perimeter of the shed in breathing apparatus (BA) to extinguish the blaze.

The shed of the roof has collapsed and damages to the farm machinery contents within is estimated at more than $750,000. Crews will remain on site for some time to mop up the area.

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined, and Fire Investigators will be attending the site later today.
