Mulch fire at Dublin - 15 March 2024
At approximately 11pm last night, the CFS arrived to manage a fire at a soil processing and garden mulching facility in Dublin of the Adelaide Plains, 60km north of Adelaide.
Approximately thirty firefighters on six fire trucks and two bulk water carriers are actively fighting the fire on scene, with support from site employees.
At present, three fires are burning in separate piles of garden mulch. Crews are working productively to limit any further spread and to suppress the fires as much as possible before the anticipated increase in wind speed expected later this morning.
Due to the current conditions, a large amount of smoke is visible in the area and the public is urged to take due care regarding potential respiratory effects of smoke as well as the impact on road conditions.
CFS firefighters will remain on site and support the business owner throughout the day today to continue to manage and suppress the fire. The dollar value for the damage is currently undetermined.
