Strathalbyn structure fire - 24 February 2024

CFS crews were called to a structure fire at a residential property in Strathalbyn, approximately 50 km to the south-east of Adelaide at around 2 am this morning.

Approximately twenty-four CFS firefighters are currently on scene with four fire trucks, one bulk water carrier and three command vehicles. Crews are being supported by SA Police and SA Ambulance.

Firefighters arrived to find the shed, with two vehicles inside, engulfed by fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and successfully prevented the fire from spreading to the house, or further through the property. CFS crews are likely to remain at the incident for the next couple of hours to monitor and mop up the area.

Two people have been treated by SA Ambulance on scene.

No cause has been identified and Fire Investigators have been notified. Losses have been estimated at $100,000.
