Structure Fire at Littlehampton - 20 November 2023
An electrical issue at a residential home on Gum Tree Drive, Littlehampton has sparked a fire which spread through the properties roof.
Tradesmen, who had been called to the house due to constant interruptions to electricity, opened the power box to find sparks which ignited and quickly spread throughout the roof.
4 CFS crews supported by 2 MFS crews have extinguished the blaze, within 30 minutes of arriving on scene, containing the damage to only the right side of the roof. Firefighters were able to gain access to the flames through the inside and outside of the roof and have estimated the damage to be $60,000.
The house was vacant when the fire started. SA Police and SA Ambulance are both on scene with SA Power Networks and a specialist solar power operator currently being called to the scene. The fire is not suspicious and fire investigators are also on scene to determine the cause.
