Structure fire at Nurom - 26 February 2024

CFS and MFS crews were called to a structure fire at a rural property in Nurom, around 20km south of Port Pirie in the state’s Mid-North just before 10 am this morning.

Approximately six CFS firefighters on one truck and one bulk water carrier were supported by resources from MFS to contain the fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a shed containing a boat and a vehicle on fire. The boat was destroyed, and minor damage was sustained to the car and the shed structure; however, the quick and efficient work of the crews on site prevented any further spread of fire within the shed.

No cause has been identified and Fire Investigators have been notified. Losses have been estimated at $100,000.
