Truck fire at Mount George - 28 May 2024
CFS responded to triple O calls at approximately 11am about a truck on fire on the uptrack of the South-Eastern Freeway at Mount George in the Adelaide Hills.
The driver managed to pull over and dislodge the burning prime mover from the trailer which is believed to have been transporting medical gas cylinders.
Six fire trucks carrying around 30 firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, but the prime mover was destroyed and incurred a damage bill of approximately $150,000.
SA Police temporarily closed the freeway, however, it has since been reopened.
The driver was uninjured.
