CFS joins the Australasian Rescue Challenge 2023
In June 2023, 300 emergency services personnel from Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom will descend on Adelaide to participate in the Australasian Rescue Challenge 2023 (ARC 2023). ARC 2023 enables dedicated personnel to demonstrate their skills, techniques and knowledge through a range of road crash rescue challenges.
As the largest provider of road crash rescue in South Australia, CFS is excited to be co-hosting and participating in ARC 2023 alongside the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service and South Australian State Emergency Service. Our team is made up of seven dedicated CFS volunteers from Lobethal and surrounding brigades supported.
As highly trained regional first responders, our members are adept at dealing with highly complex road crash incidents and will draw on their variety of experiences to make the agency proud. Our team will also have access to CFS’ first heavy rescue appliance added to our fleet in early 2023. We look forward to showcasing our volunteers and testing our skills against the best of the best.
ARC 2023 aims to provide a forum for emergency services personnel to exchange knowledge, network, and collaborate with others from across the emergency services sector. Throughout the event, participants will also have the opportunity to attend several functions where they can learn from subject matter experts, industry professionals and experienced rescue instructors from within Australia and across the world.
CFS members and the general public are invited to cheer on the CFS ARC 2023 team throughout the three challenge days (30 June - 2 July 2023) held at Adelaide Showgrounds. This is an excellent opportunity to gain realistic insight into the experience of emergency services personnel.
Trigger warning: some demonstrations will include live volunteer casualties with special FX makeup replicating real injuries.
