Learn how Rebecca Lawton from Roseworthy marches forward for International Women's Day
Just over 13 months ago, I began my volunteering journey as an Operational Firefighter with the Roseworthy Brigade. The support, encouragement, and empowerment I’ve received from the Roseworthy Brigade and its leadership have been invaluable to my growth. Their guidance has been vital in my training and boosting my confidence as a volunteer and in other aspects of my life.
As a mother of 2 young children, my husband and I challenge traditional gender norms, with him stepping into the role of stay-at-home dad. In my professional position as a Recruitment Advisor, I am passionate about promoting equity and advocating for women's representation and leadership.
Lastly, I uplift and support other women as a member of the Australasian Women in Emergency Services (AWE) Network and as part of a running mums’ group that promotes mental health and fitness while valuing mothers' contributions to the community.
As you can see, my commitment to inspiring and empowering women continues to shine through in all areas of my life as I march forward, supported by the brigade and my networks.
