Farm shed fire at Naracoorte - 25 September 2026

Six fire trucks and two bulk water carriers carrying approximately 30 firefighters responded to a Triple Zero telephone call made by a passing motorist to attend a fire at 5:30 pm at a farming property at Naracoorte in the state’s South East.

Upon arrival at the property, five kilometres west of Naracoorte, CFS volunteers found a shed containing farming machinery and implements on fire.

Firefighters took 90 minutes to contain the fire, preventing its spread into other nearby sheds.

Damage to the shed and contents is estimated at approximately $350,000.

However, the good work of CFS volunteers ensured the fire did not spread, saving property estimated at a value of half a million dollars.

SA Ambulance Service, SA Police and SA Power Networks provided support to CFS firefighters.

A cause has not been determined and will be investigated.

Firefighters remain on scene to ensure the property is made safe.
