To gain the full benefit of the program and develop a comprehensive understanding of bushfire preparedness, participants are expected to attend all four consecutive sessions.
Created specifically for women, the program provides a safe, supportive, and non-threatening environment to learn practical skills that can help protect families, homes, and livelihoods.
Across the four sessions, participants will explore:
- Preparing emotionally for bushfire events
- Understanding bushfire danger ratings and warnings
- Deciding when to “leave early” or “stay and defend”
- Developing a Bushfire Survival Plan
- Identifying hazards around the home
- Operating pumps and firefighting equipment
- Understanding bushfire behaviour
The sessions are designed to build on one another, providing a complete and practical approach to bushfire preparedness.
