$180,000 hay stack fire at Meningie - 10 January 2023

At approximately 6:00 am this morning 2 CFS crews from Meningie Brigade attended a hay stack fire located on a large dairy farm in Coorong.

Firefighters have contained the blaze saving approximately 90% of the farms hay bales. Around 450 bales were burnt equating to an estimated loss of $180,000.

Due to the fires close proximity to a swamp there is currently no concern of fire spreading. CFS brigades will be departing the property shortly while the property occupants will continue to monitor the remaining blaze.
