$90,000 Grass Fire at Wynarka - 23 January 2023
CFS were called to a grass fire in Wynarka, Southeast of Adelaide in the State’s Mallee region at 5.50pm this evening.
Four CFS crews supported by SAPOL have attended the farming property where a crop header caught fire, burning through surrounding paddock.
Crews have contained the fire to the header and approximately 3 acres of grass. Thankfully the owner of the property who was operating the machinery at the time was unharmed.
Losses are estimated at $90,000, with the majority being attributed to equipment damage.
CFS crews are expected to remain on site to extinguish the header and mop up the area until safe.
