Aldinga Beach carport fire 25 October 3.30pm

Wednesday, October 25 at 3.30pm:

Just before 2:30pm CFS were called to a fire in a carport at Sapphire Way, Aldinga Beach.

On arrival the crews found the carport alight, with smoke going through the roof cavity. Several explosions were reported inside the carport.

The six fire crews worked quickly, aggressively attacking the flames and were able to contain the fire to the carport, although the heavy smoke has caused approximately $90,000 damage.

Occupants were able to evacuate safely, but one is reported as having smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
